Terms of Service
By accessing or using Pdfmote (the website, API, or application), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is intended for developers, teams, and businesses who need reliable document generation and template management.
1. Description of the Service
Pdfmote provides an HTML-to-PDF conversion API, template storage and rendering, API key management, and a usage dashboard. Features include: converting HTML (or base64-encoded HTML) to PDF; creating and storing HTML templates with variable placeholders; generating PDFs from stored templates via API; optional upload of generated PDFs to cloud storage; and monitoring usage and limits according to your plan.
2. Accounts and Eligibility
You must register for an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and API keys and for all activity under your account. You may not share account or API key access with others in a way that violates these Terms. One account per user or legal entity is expected unless we agree otherwise. The Service is not intended for users under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Acceptable Use
You must use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not: (a) use the API in a manner that exceeds reasonable request volume or circumvents usage limits or rate limits; (b) use the Service to generate, store, or distribute illegal, harmful, infringing, or offensive content; (c) use the Service for spam, malware distribution, or any form of abuse; (d) resell or sublicense raw API access without our prior written permission; or (e) reverse engineer, attempt to gain unauthorized access to, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct we reasonably believe violates these Terms or is harmful to the Service or others.
4. API Usage and Limits
Your use of the Service is subject to the limits and quotas associated with your plan (e.g., PDF invocations per month, number of templates, API keys, storage). You must comply with any rate limits and fair-use policies we publish. If you exceed your plan limits, we may return errors (such as HTTP 429), throttle requests, or apply overage charges as described in your plan or billing documentation. We may change limits or rate limits with reasonable notice where feasible.
5. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights in the content you submit to the Service, including templates, HTML, and data. You grant us a limited license to use, process, and store that content as necessary to provide and operate the Service. Pdfmote and its licensors retain all rights in the Service, the platform, the API, and our brand and materials. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of our service or use our trademarks without our prior written consent.
6. Payment Terms
Paid plans are billed according to the cycle and pricing in effect at the time of sign-up or renewal. You are responsible for all fees incurred under your account. We may change pricing with advance notice; continued use after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance. Refunds are provided only where required by law or as stated in our billing or plan documentation. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of your access.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS IF GREATER). WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN SUCH CASES, OUR LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pdfmote and its affiliates, officers, directors, and employees from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or for any other reason we deem necessary. You may close your account at any time through the account settings or by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain or delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
11. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (e.g., by email or a notice in the Service). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
